The Patient and the Hospital

They include the daily rate, the daily fixed price and additional charges :

• the daily rate is fixed by the ARH. 80% is taken care of by sickness insurance (100% in certain cases: a minimum of a K50 intervention, starting from the 31st day of hospitalization, industrial accident, child of less than one month...)
• the daily fixed price is an obligatory service. The rate is fixed by the authorities.

Depending on your situation these expenses are dealt with or not by the social welfare and your complementary mutual insurance company.

1. Foreigners outside EU : you have to pay for all the costs. As soon as you are hospitalized, you must pay for an advance and you will pay for the rest when you leave the hospital.
2. EU Nationals : your treatment will be taken care of thanks to the European health insurance card.
